As a leading manufacturer of body analysis monitors, TANITA has been the gold standard in medically validated Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology for decades. By working closely with a global network of researchers and medical specialists, TANITA is leading the way in providing the most advanced quality and measurement accuracy in its products. Medical specialists rely on our medical products, which come with ISO 9001 certification, CE marking NAWI and FDA approval.
Most accurate BIA technology
TANITA BIA-monitors have been extensively validated using various methods that assess body composition. With BIA technology, our monitors ensure accuracy, precision and scientific excellence. The TANITA Advisory Board (TMAB) ensures that TANITA remains at the forefront of scientific developments.
TANITA invests in pioneering health research projects. For example, we are closely involved in the world's first child percentiles for body fat and muscle mass. We are also conducting extensive research into the health of the elderly and sarcopenic obesity.
With our 4C methodology, we have refined our algorithms and regression equations to ensure the most accurate bioimpedance and body composition available. The 4C model divides body weight into four elements: fat content, body water, minerals and protein. These elements are measured separately in the 4C model for the most accurate and accurate measurement results.
TANITA has a wide range of medically accredited BIA monitors that meet the highest international standards. In this way, we ensure that our products contribute to improving patient health in every environment.

Oncology
Prehabilitation: Monitoring muscle mass to ensure the strongest possible constitution going into treatment or surgery. Helps detect and treat sarcopenia, cachexia and possible malnutrition to improve prognosis.
Treatment: Replace BMI with BIA to reduce toxicity and improve chemotherapy response.
Rehabilitation: Monitoring lean mass and phase angle to assess recovery after surgery and/or treatment. Also helps to improve the patient's long-term prognosis and quality of life.
Respiratory Care
Measuring, monitoring and maintaining lean body mass using BIA helps to reduce inpatient stays, readmissions and mortality rates. In addition, BIA technology helps in the diagnosis process, by mapping the staging of respiratory diseases.
BIA is well suited for supporting clinical decisions and developing treatment strategies. Thus, together we help to keep the patient's quality of life as optimal as possible.
Bariatrics
The medically validated BIA monitors from TANITA provide a highly accurate assessment of body composition. This allows both the need for intervention to be assessed beforehand and the effectiveness of the procedure afterwards.
Pre-operatively, the results can help design individual treatment plans. Post-operatively, fat-free mass can be adequately monitored to ensure metabolic health and mobility of the patient. Fluid balance can also be measured, allowing any post-operative problems to be detected proactively.
Cardiology
The application of TANITA BIA monitors within the field of cardiology is particularly focused on detecting elevated levels of extracellular water, which could indicate cardiac insufficiency. Our professional TANITA body analysis monitors measure extracellular water (ECW), intracellular water (ICW) and the ratio between the two values.
Our BIA technology can also be used to reduce the risk of heart disease by accurately measuring visceral fat and lean mass, among other things.
Diabetes
TANITA BIA monitors provide a quick and easy way to understand the balance between fat and muscle mass, display lean mass and measure visceral fat levels.
Fat and muscle (and lean mass in general) have opposite effects on glucose sensitivity. Therefore, the ratio between these two masses is a determining factor in determining metabolic health, especially in relation to insulin resistance and the associated metabolic syndrome.
Urology
BIA monitors help to support the fluid management of patients undergoing dialysis. It helps to detect dehydration, thus maintaining optimal remaining renal function. In addition, malnutrition or sarcopenia can be identified, allowing for appropriate interventions.
